Everything is now finished and uploaded and can be found under the “milestone 3”-link in the side menu. You can have a look if you like, but isn’t it more fun if we all see the results at the presentation?
I also made some design changes of the projects logotype. I think it now better ties together the feeling of being an American news story.
The post production is now finished. I’ve added colour-correction, motion blur, camera shake, news graphics and film grain.
But you have to wait until we have the presentation to see it.
I’m now adding the sound and I hope to be finished by tomorrow. All I have left after that is some tweaking.
OK, I’ll let you see a sample image:
Hi everybody.
I’m finished with the rendering and started the post work. As some of you have commented, I could have done more render passes, texturing and lighting. But because I had some bugs* in the character among other things, and because I want to add sound(think sound adds more feeling of the monsters power), I was forced to down-size on some other parts.
I hope you’ll like the finished result anyway .
*- The character had a custom plugin for the facial animation, that made batch rendering impossible. So I had to disable it and re-animate the face using clusters instead.
- Turning the character over 180 degrees in some cases made the muscles twist to oblivion. That made some poses impossible(with the knowledge I have so far).
- Had to re-render some sequences because the occlusion doesn’t render the same on different graphic-cards.
- The dynamics had a bug that turned all the balcony-floor pieces inside out. So I fixed it by baking all dynamics and turning the surfaces back.
I have been rendering the last few days, and is 2/3 done.
I also tested to compile some with Fusion. Here is the preview: Link
The rendering will continue, and as soon as that’s done the post production will commence.
I have done the animation for the monster now, and are well on the way with the balcony. The dynamic bits of the balcony is finished.
A preview can be seen here: Link
I have had some bugs that have taken some time and therefore I’m a bit behind in the schedule. I hope the rendering will take less time than planned.
In worst case, to speed things up, I have a few computers to render on.
