Hunting for Background Material

The weather gave me an opportunity to film some different locations that I have in mind for my Background Material this week.
I found three different locations that would suite my Specialization Project. I have changed some ideas for my Background Material because when I went to look for different camera angels in town their where a lot of things and trees that would be affected if a storm would sweep in and I felt that I don’t have the amount of time it takes to create all the 3D replacements and cut out the things I don’t whant in the pictures. You can read more about why I choose these locations in my research document.

Location 1 - On the countryside, close to SkellefteƄ:

Location 2 - On the countryside, closer to SkellefteƄ than location 1:
location2.JPG

Location 3 - On top of Vitberget, looking down at SkellefteƄ:

This is me out Hunting for good locations in half a meter of snow…

P.S. I have shrinked the pictures in size for the blogg, and I have filmed material from all locations as well.

Fluids test 1, Clouds

I have been watching some tutorials that I received this week:

    Digital-Tutors - Exploring Maya Fluids
    Digital -Tutors - Ultimate Fluids

You can find these at: Digital-Tutors
(If the link does not work: www.digitaltutors.com)

They have helpt me a lot in understanding how the fluid containers and emitters work.
Well it’s about time for me to start testing fluids as well and I have started on one lesson in the “Digital-Tutors - Exploring Maya Fluids” tutorials, creating clouds. During this little test I learned a lot, for example one file format that I should not render in and that the alpha channel was not what I expected when I put my rendered pictures in Fusion.

This is the result from my first test on fluids:
