We are very close to completion now. Only small tweaks going on and we will meet our deadline for delivery on monday the 16th of march.

I’ve now set up all my renderlayers and we are ready to render them all out.

These are my different passes:

Direct light
Indirect light
Shadow
Ambient Occlusion
Zdepth
Color
Specular
Reflection
SSS (broken down in three passes for better control)
Bent normal (for controling lighting in post)
Fog

I did a comp to see how it looks so far. Hope you like it! Cant wait to see this beast move :)

This is a bush I made that the dinosaur will interact with when he enters the scene.

Render pass test

Right now Im working on getting all my renderpasses to work together and tweaking maps to balance everything out. I get a lot of control out of the passes i have now, but i could add some more to help me get what i want (like a normalpass to tweak light).

I’ve done a test to see how all the passes look together. Hope you like it, feel free to comment!

Now I have to go and steal some computers to render everything out :)

Muscle rig is done - Rendering has started

All blendshapes, all dinosaur animation and the muscle rig and simulations are done. As of tonight rendering has begun, we wish that we had a renderfarm but borrowing some of our friends computers will do. =)

This is a small render of the muscle system at work. The muscle objects bulges, jiggles and slides around and are pushing the skin outwards.

I’m now finished with the model. I’ve baked out normal and displacement map and been spending some time painting out unwanted seams and building shader networks. I’ve also started making my texture map.

I’m constantly tweaking the lighting and doing testrenders/comps. Here is a test I did today. Some shadow problems wich need to be taken care of.

Here’s a pic of my node network in fusion. I hope it will keep growing as the project moves forward. It will be the ultimate test of my organising skills, haha :)

This is it! This is done for now. I’m not saying it’s the final version but I am leaving it now to move onto creating blendshapes and muscle rigging. =)

Now I’ve animated the whole scene. It is not done yet, still have some tweaking and I will animate the arms and claws etc. Tell me what you think NOW as I dont have too much time left to change things. =)
