I think this could get really sweet! I know it’s all very rough right now but how about having the lightsource more close to the character? Like almost in the center, a fireplace or burning debris. The scene reminds a bit of the character select screen in Diablo 2. I like. :)
Personally I would like to close the gap between the buildings, having him in a more enclosed safe zone. Together with some warm lights from a fire in his face and some blue rimlight from the moon on his back!
