So finally, after months of work on this project we are getting close to a prototype release. We decided to skip all the unnecessary mechanics and just focus on the core gameplay, which is sneaking and killing. So you won’t see any nice looking sprites or something like that in our prototype, since we are concentrating on the basics.
The prototype is almost done, just some fine tunings left. I’ve almost finished the whole first level just need some minor treats, a trailer and post-mortem document is in the pipeline as well.
We predict that a CD with the game and all it’s content on it will be ready next Friday.
That would be all for this time. Hope to put an end to all this next week.

We have now implemented both the Target and moving guards. I (Isak) have been getting down with the level creating process and have started to build our first real level. Below are some pictures from the test level.
Our hero “stealths” his way to the target…

Detection!

Success! the target have been neutralized, now to find the exit?

There are still some main parts to figure out such as sound, collision with walls, menu input, guards visible range etc. But we’re getting there.
No word from Daniel however, we’re wondering where his hiding out during the summer. But me and Michael is still moving forward with this project. Later this month we are getting together to test the game.
Hang in there!

This past week Michael have started to get somewhere and he sent me a copy of the release and it worked well on my computer. So here’s some screens from one play session that I had with it.
That was all for now.

Hi again!
So we are continuing our work on this project slowly during this period, partly because I (Isak) have two summer jobs working both weekdays and weekends. But Michael is doing the programming bits while enjoying the Swedish summer. We are setting sight on an August release. I have started to write on a post-mortem and it will be finished at the same time as the game.
We have planned for some playtesting days in August and will write about our discoveries during those days here.
That was all for now. I’ll keep updating this.

Tomorrow is the deadline for the project and we haven’t got a finished product yet. But we will present the game we have like it is right now and just keep working on the project during the summer. You can find our power point presentation to the right –>
We will return with updates later!
Have a nice summer :)

Our first level will look something like this. Nothing fancy yet, but this is just as the title suggest a blueprint. We’re aiming for a playable game at Thursday. Until then, hard work.

Boxart - DONE
Manual - DONE
Documentation - DONE
In game trailer - 20%
Playable game - 50%
The most of the things surrounding the game is done, but the game itself is far from complete. This is the main problem now and since I (Isak) will be leaving for Stockholm next week we’ll just have to see if this project will develop into a playable game. But as always we will try our best these last two weeks and try to make it on time.

This week has just started and we are trying to get the last of the objectives fixed. I’ve (Isak) been working with the manual, boxart and started with a trailer but it’s hard to do a in-game trailer without any in-game footage. So I will try to get hold of some footage and then try to get a whole 30 second trailer to work.
It’s hard to stay motivated this last weeks of the project. The summer is near and we all just want to be done with it I think. We will try out best and get a game out in time.
The programmers are staying home and are working on the code, the main part of the game. Since I don’t have that much experience in that area I’m leaving the responsibility to them. This game will come out one way or the other, maybe not exactly as I described it in the Design document but fairly close to it. We will return with a week update on Friday after our meeting.
p.s. our game is now up on the Gscept homepage as well, go to http://gscept.com/index.php/games/ to check it out.
