More levels!

We now have 4 levels to choose from!
The game also have a setup screen where it’s possible to turn on or off the music.
The credit screen can be accessed from the main menu, and below is the screen that will show when selecting “new game” in the main menu.

Only a few things left to do now, and then of course prepare for the presentation on thursday.

New levels

We decided that we wouldn’t use the 9×9 size battlefield that I have designed. Instead I have made some more 7×7 sized levels.

We will see if any of them make it to the final game.

I have also tried to find as many bugs and things to fix as possible with the current version of the game. A little list with things to improve the game with was formed. The list can be found in the documents section. Next week we will try to fix the bugs and improve the game as much as we have time to.

Programming: work of the weekend.

I spent some time yesterday (Sunday) working on Candy Wars. I added sounds (a piece of cake actually!) and a life bar. The terrain objects “Healing Soda cans” and “Victory point” are now working properly. I also added the main menu made by Gud!

But well, when I was almost done something got messed up in the project files – the game was working no more – and I hadn’t commit my work! :( *boink*

However, the source files were still remaining intact, so I was able to restore the project earlier this morning. I’ve also exchanged the splash/loading screen picture and the ground selectors’ sprite to the new ones Pelle has made. The victory screen is also included now. The game is looking fantastic!

Our group met this morning and we’ve decided that we’re done with the game now. There’s still some time left to make some improvements (bug testing ftw!) and add additional game content (levels, new elements/terrain etc), but how we’re dealing with it shall be decided later when we got a emptier scheme =)

Great tutorial for adding sounds:
