We made some documentaion updates as mentioned in an earlier post. A priority list with both individual and group planning. (All individual planning is not yet done). A description of all the scene in the short, with names and scene numbers. A recording plan for the live footage. (The planning is in progress for the recording, but a date is not yet set).

Now the rocketman is textured and i will start finalizing the rig. We will begin animating shortly as soon as the rigs are completed, wich they will hopefully be next week as long as nothing unexpected happens.

Here’s also a walk i created a while ago to get a feeling of the character.Walkcycle

Motorcycle 360

Hello everyone.

Figured I’d post a turnaround of the motorcycle to display the added details. It’s just a quick render i did last night to give you a better look of the model. A lot of work has been spent on optimizing the geometry, to get a good smooth, but no more no less - happy with that. Since the last post, the engine has gotten more details, i added two leather bags, gastubes and a frame for the sidecar. Modelling and UV-mapping done, proceding with the rocket.

Motorcycle Turnaround

We had a group meeting today 18/1, this after the milestone 2 presentation yesterday.
Our planning has been good, but not as detailed and organized as it should be in order for us to know what is to be done. So todays meeting was to organize the planning, and check where everybody is in their work.

We decided that the animators (Tim, Mehmet) will go through all of the scenes and plan all animations, and make a list of them.
They will also finish the previz and block out all animations, so we can see the timing, feeling and tempo of the film.

We can send this to the guy that will help us with the music and soundeffects, so he will have something to work with.

A priority list must be made for all the scenes, this will be good for the organizing of the production. So we can plan every scene, produce the needed material, and render it in order to get to the compositing and post production.

In order for this to be done the modelling department (Olov, Michal) must look at every scene and see what’s in frame and what needs to be done in order to finish every scene.

Johannes is planning the studio recording and organize this. Contacting all the needed personnel, logistics, and budget for all of this. The recording will hopefully be made during the next week or the following week.

So in other words we will make a more careful planning of everything from now on, and work closer together in order to finish this project.

This was a good meeting and got us on track, the planning will take some time from the production at this moment, but will speed things up later on.

Documentation for this will be made, the RocketMan_propslist.xls will be redone to become RocketMan_prioritylist.xls, which will include props, animations, particle effects, and sceneplanning.

RocketMan_recordingplan.xls is the planning of the studiorecording. And we will make more detailed individual timeplans.

MS2 Delivery

We looked at our workload and decided to cut some scenes in the story, this to ensure the quality of the movie. It’s mainly the scenes with the air balloon that we decided to skip since they don’t are necessary to the story. Here is the modified storyboard:
