CG Milestone 1
MS1 is complete and considered a success. The project plan as well as the time plan can be found under the document categories to the right.
I remodeled the head from yesterday as well. I got rid of the triangles that I feared would cause problems when importing into ZBrush. I gave the model a few more loops around the mouth as well as cleaned up and reshaped the topology, so that it can handle deformations better. Though it came with the cost of about one hundred more polys, but what the heck!
I received the fourth book today aswell! It’s called GAME ART: Creation, Direction, and Careers and at my first sight I think it looks really promising. It seems to deals with a major amount of the problems that I might stumble upon on.

Well, that’s it for me!
See you!

It’s running!
I just finished this model that I intend to use as a prototype object during this research and learning phase. I aimed at about 1k in budget and ended up with 1058 tries which must be considered okay. For those of you how know me in person might see that it’s a self portrait or at least attempt =). I tried to focus on smooth edgeloops an overall clean topology, and I think it ended up pretty neat. I knew there are some edgeloops that ends up as tries, but with my budget I decided that it was necessary and exemptible topology wise as well.
So the next step for me must be to start learning the fundamentals of ZBrush. Off the record I have a really good feeling about this project. =)
Yea… I almost forgot to tell you that I have received three out of four books that I ordered last week. =D (Creating the Art of the Game, Edgeloop Character Modeling For 3D Professionals Only and Game Character Development with Maya. Still waiting for Game Art: Creation, Direction, and Careers).
Cheers!
